I’ve been asked, why growtogain?
I first thought of it purely in a physical sense. My goal in life to remain as thin as I could has hampered and dominated every aspect of my life. Having been exposed to anorexia I know that when you fall beneath a weight that is considered healthy for your frame, your brain changes and you lose some of your abilities to see logic, to see yourself or the world clearly – you literally starve your brain. I know that if I grow physically, i.e.put on weight, the weight gain heralds the start of so much more. I stand to gain so much more than weight: I gain better health; I gain wisdom and knowledge as I start to fill my head with so much more than a preoccupation with food and body-image; I gain an unimaginable freedom from this self-imposed regime that doesn’t allow for impulsiveness, creativity, flexibility, outward reaching and sociability – the list is endless.
By growing we are constantly gaining.
In gaining, we are forever growing.
